Terry Brennan – New Buffalo High School Class of '62

After what Terry calls "floundering for a couple of years" after graduation, he enrolled at Indiana University in Bloomington and graduated with a degree in business management and economics.

He taught school for a few years in Michigan City, then got into the golf business with Wilson Sporting Goods. When the opportunity came along to join the organization that sold the Alligator brands of clothing and FootJoy shoes (golf related products) he jumped at the chance. Terry has been a sales rep and Regional Sales Manager for 28 years. BUT THAT'S HIS DAY JOB!

Terry also has this "thing" about flying. In 1971 he got his private pilot's license. In 1984 he purchased an ex-Navy training plane (T-34). A few years later he had it restored to new condition. Terry then became aerobatic pilot. One thing led to another and next...he was formation flying in airshows. Years of diligence and love for aviation paid off – Terry earned the qualification as a formation check pilot for the civilian certification group known as F.A.S.T. (Formation and Safety Team). He now certifies other pilots in all types of ex-military aircraft. He has briefed and led numerous formation flights with as many as 50 or more airplanes in the same flight. Terry has even had the pleasure to lead the flights at the worlds largest airshow at Oshkosh Wisconsin. BUT THAT'S HIS SECOND DAY JOB!

His knowledge of T-34 and the military aircraft flown by civilians got him the job as Editor for the T-34 Association's Mentor Monitor magazine – a position he has held for the past seven years. In his spare time, what little there is of it, he produces colored pencil drawings of WWII era military aircraft and devotes a fair amount of time to writing. His latest project is a collection of essays on the wonder of growing up in Grand Beach. It will be titled Sassafras Leaves and Snowflakes, and Terry hopes to have it published within the next year or so.

Terry lives in the San Diego area, is married (Patti) and has two daughters Kelly (22), and Elizabeth (20). If you'd like to contact Terry his e-mail link can be located in the member's search area.
