New Buffalo High School Class of 1983 (20th Reunion)

The Class of '83 celebrated their 20th reunion with a full weekend of activities. The weekend kicked off with an 'earlybird' party Friday night at the Stray Dog (formerly Surf Gardens) where approx. 20 classmates gathered for food and drink.

On Saturday morning, classmates and guests got a first-hand look at the new school, with a guided tour by Mr. Hart. That was followed by a picnic at the softball diamonds where the Class of '83 state baseball champs (and classmates) vs. the 1995 baseball state champs who were special guests. Mr. Vink, head coach of the '83 Champs was honored and photographed with returning players and classmates. The younger team defeated the class of '83 in a close but fun-spirited game.

The picnic also included music, hotdogs, special t-shirts and a bouncyland for the kids.

Pre-reunion activities included a family picnic held Saturday afternoon at the high school baseball diamonds. The featured event was a commemorative softball exhibition (coed-family): The 1983 baseball state champs (gold) vs. the 1995 baseball state champs (blue).

That evening, a more formal dinner and dance was held at Briar Leaf Golf Club, where classmates saw even more classmates for the first time in 20 years. Dinner, awards, dancing, and fellowship made for a wonderful reunion. On Sunday, golfers converged back to Briar Leaf for a round before departing.
